I'm going to be posting a few times a week, and each post is going to be an overview of a particular movie or TV show and its treatment of women. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Something I'll mention in probably every review is the Bechdel Test. In short, for a movie to pass, it has to have at least two female characters, who talk to each other, about something besides a guy. It's from a comic called&lt;a href="http://alisonbechdel.blogspot.com/2005/08/rule.html"&gt; &lt;/a&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;a href="http://alisonbechdel.blogspot.com/2005/08/rule.html"&gt;Dykes to Watch Out For&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;/i&gt;and as a friend of mine points out every time I mention it, it's not a very high standard. Even so, a lot of the movies that pass it only barely do.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Anyway, while I've already got a fairly lengthy list of films and shows to discuss, I'd love to get some additional ideas.
